I began this project in 2020 in the midst of the pandemic, when I suddenly found myself with something I hadn't had in decades: an abundance of time to explore and engage in creative work. I first began sewing, then ventured into embroidery, and these remain my primary creative focus. But I also love knitting, natural dyeing, and weaving, and have been exploring these crafts more in recent years.

Slow Work Sewing was initially a way to document my process on Instagram, a visual diary to look back on and a place to collect inspiration. Now it has become a way that I've been able to connect with people people around the world examining textile traditions from many perspectives. I'm so glad you've found your way here!
