Narrative Embroidery:

Translate ideas & experiences into stitch

In this course, we will break down three traditional uses of journaling - recording experiences, processing emotions and developing ideas - and learn a structured process to translate these into mark-making and stitch. We will use creative prompts, guided visualizations, and stitching exercises to develop our personal journaling styles.

WHO IT'S FOR: 

Everybody!  You don't need any prior stitching, writing or drawing experience.  We will be starting from scratch.

 

WHAT WE'LL BE DOING:

The virtual class will consist of 4 hour long sessions, focusing on Core Principles, The Body, History & Memory and The Creative Process. 

​

The in-person class will cover the same material over the course of one day.

​

WHEN IS IT: 

Virtual class: Fridays, Jan 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th, 12 - 1 PM EST

​

In-person class: Sunday, Jan 21st, 10 AM - 3 PM EST

 

HOW MUCH IS IT?

This class has a sliding scale, donation based payment structure, with options to pay a reduced rate, full rate, or ally rate.
